More Snippets from the Drag Bag

I had a chance to do a few more scans of my progress on the bag.

Each of the handles/shoulder straps have been embellished.

I added more to one of the front pockets ... it needed more life.

This is one of the smaller trellises on the side seam.

Also played around on the doodle cloth with some 7mm ribbon & came up with
some funky new blooms...will share tomorrow...after I get them scanned.

Love your trellis! Looks like hard work embroidering on denim. Are they loads of french knots at the pocket?

Hi Diane ... I find working on denim fine on a single thickness...after all it is a pretty loose weave, and cotton. It gets a bit challenging on multiple thicknesses...but if you love denim it's worth the effort.

The knots are actually double-wrap Colonial Knots ... after the figure-8 part I wrap the thread around the needle again before sinking down into the fabric. I find Colonials far more stable than French Knots. Did tons of them back when candlewicking was a big fad...I made several pillows for gifts before I lost interest ... but kept my love for that knot!

I really like the purple and green chevrons...I love those two colors together!
I enjoy seeing your work on the drag bag. Amazing how the delicately embroidered flowers are contrasted by the rugged denim background. Very shabby chick! Love it.
Thanks for sharing.
